Today I m going to give you a chicken stew recipe and I am going to make Chicken Stew. I am sharing the easiest recipe. it is prepared in 2,3 different methods and ingredients. There are different methods of making chicken stew but this chicken stew recipe is an Asian recipe, it's not the English way and it has been eaten in Asian countries like Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, and many Asian countries. Let's check the ingredients. The ingredients we need for chicken stew are:

Ingredients of chicken stew

  • Chicken = 1 kg
  • Onions = 3 large-sized roughly chopped or thinly slices (depend on your choice)
  • Tomatoes = 3 medium size (cut into slices)
  • Ginger paste = 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste = 1 tbsp
  • yogurt = 1 cup
  • Ginger = 1-inch piece ( Julian cut)
  • Red chili Flakes = 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder = 1 tsp
  • Whole red chilies = 5 to 6 (which I use in the end when simmering)
  • In whole spices (Garam masala we need)
  • Green cardamoms = 4
  • Black cardamom = 4
  • Cinnamon stick = 3-inch 
  • Cloves = 8 to 12
  • Black pepper = 1 tsp

  • Bay leaf = 2
  • Cumin seeds = 2 tsp
  • In dry spices we need
  • Turmeric = 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder =2 tbsp 
  • Coriander leaves = 2-3 tbsp
  • Garam masala =  1/2 tsp
  • Oil = 200 grams
  • Salt = as you required
  • Green chillies = 4 to 5 (optional)

Method of preparation:

Take a pan and put the oil in a pan, let it heat up. it has heated up now add all the whole spices (garam masala like green cardamom, black cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves, black pepper, bay leaf, and cumin seeds) let it cook for 1 minute.

It has cooked now add the onions make the onions soft, not brown. now add salt so the onions can get soft quickly.

I want tomatoes cooked well and completely mixed with onions in the chicken easily. when all water dries, and oil has released out on top, I will add dry spices like red chili flakes, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and salt, mix it well and cook for again 2 minutes.

keep the flame on very low heat and keep it to the normal temperature then add yogurt and whole red chilies to it and cover the lid. keep it in your mind when you add the yogurt to every dish your flame is very low or the better option turn the flame is off because when you add yogurt in high heat it does not remain in the smooth form.

Now fry 3-4 min at high flame. This step is necessary, It will bring a smooth texture. I am going to cook the chicken on high flame until the chicken is done and the aroma of spices is absorbed in the chicken. cooks the chicken gravy very well until the water dries up and oil is released out on top. I am adding 50ml water to adjust chicken stew consistency, if you like more gravy so, you can add more water, Mix it well.

Now fry 3-4 min at high flame.

Cook for 2 min at low flame, after 2 min turns off the flame and sprinkle the garam masala powder and green chilies if you like, it's optional to mix it at this stage check the salt and spice. Taste can be adjusted to your choice because some person like spicy food and some people doesn't like spices. Mix it well, the chicken stew is ready, and garnish with coriander leaves and Julian cut ginger.

Cook for 2 min at low flame, after 2 min turns off the flame.
